DESCRIPTION
The classic log cabin block made using fat quarters. Our kit includes 22 fabrics that are 22" X 22" and 1/2 yard for binding. The pattern calls for fat quarters but we found that to be very tight on fabric. The pattern Around the Cabin is NOT included.
We made our kit from the collection I Love Purple. There are only 20 fabrics in that collection so we had to double up on 2 fabrics. One in the cream color and the beige color.
We found it very helpful to lay all the blocks out before starting to sew, this helps to disperse the fabrics evenly. They have you to cut all the pieces to size and this saves a lot of trimming. Pam used a square up ruler after each round to make sure the blocks were coming out the right size. There was very little to trim.
Finished quilt: 58-3/4in x 70-1/2in
Quilt can be made 70 3/4" X 82 1/2" by adding a border. The pattern calls for 2 1/8 yards and you would now need 3/4 yard for your binding.
